2010 HSMAI GREATER NEW YORK CHAPTER
FRANK W. BERKMAN TOURISM ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The HSMAI Greater New York Chapter Annual Awards acknowledge those professionals who consistently exhibit extraordinary leadership and exemplify a love of the tourism and hospitality industry. The winners will share the stage with this year’s  recipient of the Frank W. Berkman Tourism Achievement Award at the Chapter’s annual black-tie awards gala in June.

This award was inspired by industry visionary Frank W. Berkman, a former Executive VP and COO of HSMAI, who is credited with establishing HSMAI as a highly influential international organization.

Nominations will be accepted through March 12, 2010. (Please note that current HSMAI Board Members and HSMAI Awards and Recognition Committee members are not eligible.)

This is your opportunity to recognize a hospitality professional or student who has consistently exhibited professional excellence in his or her chosen segment of hospitality.

Nomination Categories:

• Hotel General Manager of the Year
• Sales & Marketing Executive of the Year – Hotel
• Sales & Marketing Executive of the Year – Travel Industry
• Revenue Management Executive of the Year
• Operations Excellence Executive of the Year
• Hospitality Professional of the Year
• Hospitality Student of the Year

 

CRITERIA -

• Nominees for all categories must demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, be recognized as an outstanding industry leader and consistently support the HSMAI Greater New York Chapter.
• Nominees for all categories except General Manager must be members of the HSMAI Greater New York Chapter. 
• Nominees for General Manager must currently be working as a general manger in a single property, managing director, chief executive officer or similar position responsible for a single or multi-property lodging business.
• Nominees for Hospitality Student must be enrolled in an accredited Hospitality Management program pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree, show outstanding academic and leadership qualities, maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be a member of the HSMAI Greater New York Chapter.
• Nominees for Operations Excellence must currently be working as a managing director, chief executive officer or similar position in the tourism sector; i.e. theatre, tour operator, restaurant, attraction or in a
  multi-property capacity.

The designated Judges are the Executive Committee of the Greater New York HSMAI Chapter, the Executive Director and the Awards Committee members. Participate and help us recognize and reward those individuals who have had such an impact on our lives and careers.

Remember, the deadline for submitting nominations is earlier this year:  March 12th, 2010.
